Adsense Income - What To Do When Adsense Income Falls

There are certain periods of the year when there is a noticeable drop in AdSense income. It is in times like these when the web publisher, whose business model relies on AdSense, begins to question: has he done the right thing? Have I followed the plan correctly? Am I still in the sandbox? Does this model still work? Does Google not like my sites anymore? Am in the middle of the Google slap, or the Google dance? Should I look for another business model? I knew I should have followed the advice of Guru X or Guru Y!

It is at these times when the resolve of the internet publisher is tested. And this is where the strong are separated from the weak. So what can you practically do when there is a drop in your AdSense revenue and visitors to your site?

The first thing you must do is make sure you are working to a written plan. Ensure that the business model you devised those months ago is written out in detail, so that in times of doubt you can reflect and remind yourself what and why you are doing it. Have the plan written out and this will keep you grounded. Make any modifications, or adjustments on the basis of any new information you have gathered, but make sure it is not a dramatic change.

When things get tough, keep positive. You have your plan. It was developed on the basis of all that investigative work and due diligence you did with the experts from which you drew on. What worked several months ago still works. Keep positive. Your attitude will affect your activity.

Keep focussed. Put the plan into action. It has been tested, tweaked, now get into gear and keep putting the plan into action. Ignore the distractions. Unsubscribe to some of the lists you are on, and focus on the main game, which is your game, not what someone else is promoting. Keep out of Analytics and AdSense reports every second hour. Look out for other non-productive activities. Your focus will sharpen your activity.

Keep active. It is important that you stay busy putting your plan into action. One step at a time, step by step you will make it. You know what each step should be, whether it is keyword research, content publishing, link building, article writing, comment posting or building new sites.

So when your AdSense income starts to fall you need to go back to your plan and remind yourself how strong it is. Keep positive, keep focussed and get active.
